I've had a lot of fantastic movement in my career so far this year.
I've come SO CLOSE to getting some amazing jobs and I look at it as
a sign that it's just around the corner for me!
I
was flown into New York for a delightful role in a new musical that
will be opening on Broadway this fall. I had three callbacks and
truly thought I had the part. Oh well
that's show biz!
I
was also up for a new animated feature film coming out next year
with a star line-up cast. It was the role of a penguin. I had an
awesome audition with the director where I got to show off all my
capabilities! I sang and dance and did mime improvs. It's called
"stop motion capture" where they take your physical movement
and put it into the cartoon character, like Golum in Lord Of The
Rings. I think I found my niche! Again, I didn't book it. The role
was given to a star from Saturday Night Live, but I feel like it
was such a wonderful opportunity regardless!
I
also auditioned for Simon Cowell of AMERICAN IDOL's new variety
show that came out this summer on NBC called AMERICA'S GOT TALENT
(Hey, I have no pride
my agent calls me "fearless").
I had a great audition (one whole minute!) and I was one of the
few selected people who was asked to stay for an on camera interview!
I never made it beyond that point (which is beyond me) but now that
I've watched the show...I have no regrets. I met and shook Simon's
hand! That alone made my day.
I'm
looking forward to what the rest of the year will bring my way...
I will continue to just keep on keeping on!
